Safety QUAZITE® boxes will not crack or break from contact by lawn maintenance equipment exposing the enclosed terminals, pipes or cable. The monolithic composite construction of boxes and covers ensures children are safe from possible injury due to box failures. May be cut by lawn maintenance equipment. The damaged box can then be entered easily creating a possible risk of injury or death.
Lateral Sidewall Load 0.54" deflection at 3800 lbs.*

Able to withstand forces of soil surcharges, maintains consistent shape and enclosure integrity.
0.756" deflection at 110 lbs.*

Soil surcharges may cause sidewalls to deflect changing the shape of the boxes or causing failure. As a result, the covers may not properly secure back on the boxes.
Compressive Strength 9000 to 11,000 PSI (tested according to ASTM C-109)

Hold up to load of non-deliberate traffic from service trucks and semis. QUAZITE® boxes can withstand more than three times the direct crushing load capacity of plastic boxes.
2700 to 3800 PSI (tested according to ASTM D-695)

The lower compressive strength makes the box more susceptible to failure when run over by non-deliberate traffic from service trucks and semis.
Cover Load Design Load: 5000 to 22,568 lbs.*
Min. Test Load: 7500 to 33,852 lbs.*
Max. Test Load: 7364 lbs.*
Cover Deflection 0.08" deflection at 5000 lbs.*
0.09" deflection at 8000 lbs.*
0.13" deflection at 15,000 lbs.*

Well within the Western Underground Committee Guidelines 3.6 criteria.
0.50" deflection at 2212 lbs.*
1.78" deflection at 5002 lbs.*

Does not meet Western Underground Committee Guidelines 3.6 criteria of having less than 0.50" deflection at 10,400 lbs.
Impact Strength 72 ft.-lbs. (per ASTM D-2999 using a "C" tup)*

More resistant to damage from sudden impacts or hits likely to come from lawn maintenance equipment or dropped tools. QUAZITE® has passed low temperature tests to -50oF (-45oC)
18 ft.-lbs. (per ASTM D-2999 using a "C" tup)*

More susceptible to incurring damage from lawn maintenance equipment, dropped tools or low temperature environments.
Skid Resistance At least a 0.60 coefficient of friction in accordance with ASTM C-1028, ADA and Western Underground Committee Guidelines 3.6.* Less than 0.41. Does not meet Western Underground Committee Guidelines 3.6.*
Other Sizes Offered Wide variety of sizes from 6" x 8" x 7.25" to 48" x 96" x 48" Sizes limited to 36" x 60" x 24" and smaller.
Design Offer both stackable straight-walled and nestable flared wall designs. The straight-wall boxes can be stacked providing the greater depths needed to reach equipment. Non-stackable flared wall design.
